Stretch Therapy

Move with freedom and ease at any age.

Stretch Therapy:

We often accept stiffness, pain, and restricted movement as just a part of aging or ‘the way things are.’ But our bodies aren’t designed to feel stuck; they are designed to move with ease. When fascia—the connective tissue that wraps around our muscles, organs, and nerves—becomes tight or dehydrated, it limits our freedom and can even change how we hold ourselves in the world.

Stretch Therapy at Pivotal Health is my way of helping you reclaim your body’s natural range. It isn’t just about ‘stretching’ muscles; it’s a unique, corrective system focused on lengthening and softening the fascia.

This precise work enables muscles to ‘slide and glide’ more freely, creates vital space within your joints, and helps prevent injury and falls.

By gently lengthening these tissues, we bring a sense of openness back to your movement. You’ll leave a session feeling lighter, taller, and more liberated in your own skin. It’s about ensuring your body remains a place you feel capable, agile, and comfortable in for years to come.

If you’re looking to move with more ease, address chronic stiffness, or regain the physical freedom you’ve been missing, I invite you to join us for our upcoming term. You can explore the details, book your place, or call me to discuss your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stretch Therapy™

Everything you need to know before your first class.

  • Most stretching classes focus on simply moving limbs to increase flexibility. Stretch Therapy™ is a systematic, corrective approach. We focus on the health of your fascia — the connective tissue wrapping your muscles, nerves and organs. By using specific, controlled movements and PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) techniques, we aren't just "stretching"; we are helping your nervous system "let go" of chronic tension, allowing muscles to slide and glide as they were designed to.
  • Absolutely not. In fact, if you feel stiff, locked up, or "un-flexible," this practice is designed specifically for you. The goal isn't to be able to do the splits; it's to gain the range of motion you need to move through your daily life without pain or restriction. We meet your body exactly where it is today.
  • Just like our Craniosacral sessions, this movement work is "bottom-up." When your fascia is tight, your nervous system can remain in a state of high alert. By gently and precisely lengthening these tissues, we provide your nervous system with the sensory feedback it needs to shift out of "survival mode" and into a state of ease and relaxation.
  • Because this is a guided, instructional practice, we focus on safe, progressive loading. However, please always clear new exercise programs with your GP or specialist. During the first class, I encourage you to discuss your history with me so I can help you modify any movements to ensure they are safe and supportive for your specific needs.
  • Unlike a passive massage session, this is an active, guided practice. You will be taught specific sequences to perform under my supervision. You are the one doing the work, which empowers you to take this "tool" home with you and use it whenever you feel your body getting tight or stuck again. Classes are small and constant guidance and supervision is a definite plus!
